VR Lift is an immersive platform used for realistic forklift simulation training. This application was developed by VR Headspace to provide employers with confidence that workers have been properly trained.
Why use Virtual Reality for Forklift Training?
Document based training & mechanical simulators cannot create emotion and feeling of doing the job. Using Virtual Reality allows us to develop a more realistic environment where a trainee is not distracted and has a real life-like scenario to work within. VR simulates situations that cannot be done safely with real equipment further preparing the operator for the real world.

Virtual Reality (VR) uses PC based technologies to create simulated environments. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact within the environments
Using VR Lift – Course and Design
VR Lift Forklift training consists of 2 elements – Pre-Training & Drive-Training. These sections are based on standard forklift training methods using traditions patterns, rack spacing and pallet sizes to ensure real lift like consistency. Below are some examples of these course layouts.
Guidance System Makes VR Learning a Breeze!
Within VR Lift, users will be guided through training by our built in guidance system, which shows users how to navigate courses as they train for testing and certification. Helping users understand how and where to steer a forklift, prepares them for unique and demanding real world situations.
Reporting & Traceability
With VR Lift being PC based it allows drivers data to be tracked, capturing various styles, habits and potential risk. Shown in the image the driver was driving too fast and has collided with the barrier leaving a red impact point. All of this information is stored for later review.
Lack of Training #1 Cause of Injury & Death
Traditional training methods do not prepare drivers for realistic scenarios. Falling loads & roll overs are the top causes of death or severe injury. There is no way to do this currently without the immersion of VR to train for this type of incident.
